Sod Installation

Turf grass, also known as sod, is a fully matured and densely-rooted grass that has been cultivated in nutrient-rich soil with regular irrigation and fertilization. It is free from weeds and does not require additional seeding after installation.

Lawn Renovation (Over-seeding and Lawn repair)

Many older lawns were established with common turf grasses not suited for heat, drought or poor soil conditions. These types of lawns are more often disease and insect prone, requiring more fertilizer and water. New construction lawns are often stripped of topsoil and the compacted subsoil creates poor growing conditions.

A lawn restoration through over-seeding or sodding will upgrade your lawn and increase the value of your landscape. A well-maintained lawn and landscape can add 15% to the value of your home. Over-seeding newer turf grass varieties into an older lawn will help it better withstand insects, disease, drought and foot traffic.

How Do We Renovate Lawns?

  • SLICE-SEEDING WITH A MECHANICAL SLIT-SEEDER
This is the best method for over-seeding established turf. Our machines vertically cut “slits” or miniature furrows through the thatch layer into the soil. Seed is dropped into the furrows assuring seed/soil contact where the seedlings can germinate. The machines will not destroy the existing turf grass plants.
  • TOPDRESSING AND OVER-SEEDING
Topdressing your lawn with compost-enriched topsoil also ensures 100% seed/soil contact and does not destroy existing healthy turf grass plants. We recommend topdressing and over-seeding when the soil grade needs to be improved. Topdressing allows us the opportunity to level your lawn, fill in low spots and improve drainage issues throughout the yard. Additionally, we install only disease, drought and insect-resistant turf grass seed.
  • SOD REPAIR
This is the “extreme lawn makeover” method. We start with a treatment  to remove all of the undesirable grasses and weeds from your lawn. Next, we strip and remove all of the thatch and regrade, making your lawn level again. The latest and greatest sod is installed and within a few days, we have transformed your old tired lawn into a brand new dark green blanket of turf.
